Inspiration for Holiday Dressing Dec 11 Written By Stephanie Kinsman I love this time of year, the hustle, the bustle, gift wrapping, hot cocoa, the smell of pine and the stress of figuring out what to wear to each event! Just kidding, I don’t love that last one and I know I’m not alone. On top of making sure your turkey is cooked through, dressing for every event you have on your social calendar this season may be one of your biggest stressors, so I’ve decided to provide some outfit inspiration to help you feel confident and put together no matter what you’re up to! FriendsmasThis has become a favourite annual social event! I’m not always able to be with my family this time of year, so getting together with your chosen family to celebrate always feels special. For an event like this, I always think elevated casual is the key, leaving you feeling comfortable but also festive. I recommend a cozy sweater and elevated bottom, whether it’s an embellished jean or a silk skirt, either way, you can’t go wrong! Finish the look with a fun boot and you’re ready to laugh, drink and chat with your besties. Family TraditionsEvents with your family, for some, can be one of the more stressful events to dress for. You want to be put together, appropriate for Grandma and Grandpa, but still festive! I love the idea of pairing a statement blouse like this leopard tie top with a textured leather skirt. When I think holiday dressing, I think texture so have fun with knits, leather, silk or sequins! NYEArguably the most fun to dress for! Embrace colour and embrace sparkle. This year my partner and I are hosting our first New Year’s Eve party, so my inspiration is less out on the town and more glamorous hosting. I’ve paired an ombre sequin skirt with a purple knit to add a level of cozy comfort for our house party. If you are hitting the town this year, lose the sweater, swap flats for heels and pull the midi skirt up to make a dress! Have fun with it! Want more style inspiration?
