3 Ways to Wear Pink and Red
It’s no secret that I love pink and red as a colour combo, it always feels whimsical and adds a fun level of joy to any look. That being said, I know that this combination can be a wee bit intimidating when dressing, feeling quite loud if you’re someone who isn’t as comfortable with colour, never mind pairing two bold colours together. So I thought I would break this combination down into digestible options so you can rock this look no matter your level of colour courage, and what better month than February to wear this love-inducing combo!
For the Toe Dip
You might love the idea of incorporating some pink and red into an outfit, but you don’t want to think too hard about the combination. If this is you, I recommend finding a top or bottom that does the work for you, incorporating both colours in a way that feels authentic to you and your style. In this case, I’m letting the shirt do the work and pairing it with a neutral bottom. This is the best option for someone who might not be as comfortable with expressing their style through bright colours.
For the Shallow End
You might want to push yourself outside of your comfort zone, but maybe you just want to ease into these colour pairings. If this is you, I’d recommend pairing the colours together in subtle ways. One way could be by focusing on lighter pigments of pink and red or adding details in each colour. In this case, I chose a light pink bottom and paired it with a t-shirt that adds a small pop of red! It’s a pink and red combo without being too loud.
For the Jump Right In
You might be all in on this colour combo and really want the world to see you when you enter a room. If this is you, you’re going to want to go full tilt with pigment, make sure you choose pinks and reds that are bold as colour blocking is the ultimate way to achieve this vibe! For you, it might be a blouse and wide-leg pant, for me it’s an over-the-top pink ruffle mini dress with red tights and red shoes. Go big or go home!
