Boxes of Appreciation For Our Gals

This February we celebrate our second annual Galentine’s Day with brunch! Nicole and I love celebrating our fellow ladies, especially if it means quality time together over mimosas and a delicious spread. Whether it’s a promotion, healthy relationships, or hitting a professional or personal goal, we think it’s so important to celebrate one another, so this year, in addition to brunch, we wanted to make it extra special by creating favours for each of our guests! Today we’re sharing how you too can create boxes of appreciation for the gals in your life. Whether it’s Galentine’s Day or any other day of the year, it’s always important to show how much you appreciate those you love.

Choose a Theme

When putting together these boxes for our girls, selecting a theme would help give guidance on what kind of treasures we would want to include. Nicole and I knew that we wanted them to feel special, and appreciated, and be able to use whatever was inside to help pamper them. This is such an essential step as every group of friends is different and you want the theme to align with your group, and our gals always appreciate a moment of self-care. Knowing this anchored us in choosing the items that would add to the theme of a little at-home pamper night. This meant including a hair clip to keep your hair out of your face while using eye masks for a touch of spa time and some sweet treats for a hint of indulgence.

Vessels

While we are calling these boxes of appreciation, you could go in a lot of different directions, a basket, reusable bag, jar, or reusable cup, just to name a few! I recommend aligning your container with whatever your chosen theme is. For us, we wanted it to feel like a gift the girls could take away, so we landed on a classic brown box, that we could have fun decorating! These blank slate boxes allowed us to create special gifts for our friends who are so important in our lives.

Get Creative

Nicole and I wanted to have a creative moment with our boxes, making them feel extra special for our guests. We encourage you to have fun with them however you like, whether it’s adding ribbon, playing with stencils, or adding stickers, the sky is the limit when it comes to what’s possible here. Nicole and I decided to try a little Instagram hack we saw to create heart stamps with paint and toilet rolls. Needless to say, it didn’t go quite as we thought, because when do these things ever do? But that didn’t stop us, we carried on, painting each box a little differently, with different-sized hearts in different colours. To top it off, Nicole is somewhat of a ribbon wizard, so we finished the boxes with a lot of ribbon and a lot of bows! If you can’t add an excessive amount of bows to a Galentine’s celebration, when can you?
